Stella Maris - Columbia Valley Red Wine 2004

This rich and pleasant wine opens with aromatics of vanilla, cherry and raspberry, along with bright, lively red fruit, leather and saddle notes. Concentrated strawberry cream on the palate leads to a soft, smooth and supple toffee-almond finish.

The 2004 growing season got off to a warm start followed by a cooler period during bloom. Warm, dry, and constant weather conditions during the summer months created uniform berry maturation. Warm temperatures during the last days of summer produced excellent ripening conditions. 2004 followed a freeze year resulting in a lighter crop throughout the region.

Diversity of vineyards and sub-appellations within the Columbia Valley are Northstar's hallmarks.
Fruit is chosen from the very best possible sources throughout the Columbia Valley.  The Northstar team works closely with each grower to achieve specific fruit quality and yield parameters.
Vines average 15 years old and yield grapes with concentrated varietal flavors of cherry and plum with elegant tannins.
Fruit from over 10 separate vineyards and 12 different blocks contributed to the blend.
